While we are on our girls getaway, the guys are handling all things to do with the kids.  They are getting better at this and will draw on their experiences from last year when they had to play mom and dad to the kids.  They really tried to get out of this, and wanted us to hire babysitters.  But, we thought they should do all things related to keeping the kids, so they know how valuable their wives are.  It’s not easy juggling jobs, kids and up keeping up a home.  Mothers rock!!  And, Granddad is playing it safe this year.  He is claiming that he may be getting that sight correction surgery he has been meaning to schedule.  He has to get it because he has developed cataracts and his doctor does not want to let it get any worse than it is.  I think this is a good excuse for him to go ahead and schedule it.  I don’t think he wants to play the Grandmother role this year, since he got stuck last year with fathers who constantly came to him with kids in tow.  He thinks they will do better this year, and beside, all the kids are a year older.
