MY OWN CHEERLEADER

Things are starting to click with me. I'm understanding sugar levels better now than when I first started monitoring them. My doctor is really proud of me for all the progress I've made. I think she's especially impressed because she knows I've been handling all of this by myself. I'm living alone and I don't have any roommates or friends or boyfriends who will remind me that I need to stay on top of this stuff. I've been my own cheerleader. When it really comes down to it I think that is the best. In my opinion, nobody is going to care as much about your own health as you are. In an effort to understand the sugar levels, I think what I've found is that I'm starting to acquire an overall understanding of the body in general. It's amazing how when you really look at it you see that essentially everything in your body works together. It really isn't about isolating different parts. I think I'm so fascinated with it all that I'm considering going back to medical school. It seems somewhat unusual to say, but I think having the diabetes is what really sparked my interest in becoming a doctor again!
